“ কমলা রঙের বিশ্বে নারী- বাধার পথ দেবেই পাড়ি” শ্লোগান নিয়ে পঞ্চগড়ের আটোয়ারীতে আন্তর্জাতিক নারী নির্যাতন প্রতিরোধ পক্ষ ও নারী জাগরণের অগ্রদূত বেগম রোকেয়া দিবস উদযাপিত হয়েছে। মহিলা ও শিশু বিষয়ক মন্ত্রণালয়, মহিলা বিষয়ক অধিদপ্তরের উদ্যোগে এবং উপজেলা প্রশাসনের সহযোগিতায় বুধবার (৯ডিসেম্বর) উপজেলা পরিষদ হলরুমে নারী নির্যাতন নির্মূলকরণে আলোচনা সভা এবং “জয়িতা অন্বেষণে বাংলাদেশ”শীর্ষক কর্মসুচির আওতায় নির্বাচিত জয়িতাদের সম্মননা প্রদান করা হয়। এতে সভাপতিত্ব করেন উপজেলা নির্বাহী অফিসার আবু তাহের মোঃ সামসুজ্জামান। উপজেলা আইসিটি অফিসার মোঃ সহিদুল ইসলামের সঞ্চালনায় শ্লোগানের উপর গুরুত্বারোপ করে দিক নির্দেশনামুলক গুরুত্বপুর্ণ বক্তব্য রাখেন অনুষ্ঠানের প্রধান অতিথি উপজেলা পরিষদ চেয়ারম্যান মোঃ তৌহিদুল ইসলাম।
স্বাগত বক্তব্য রাখেন মহিলা ভাইস চেয়ারম্যান রেনু একরাম। অন্যদের মধ্যে বক্তব্য রাখেন উপজেলার সাবেক মুক্তিযোদ্ধা কমান্ডার মোঃ নজরুল ইসলাম, বাংলাদেশ হিন্দু, বৌদ্ধ,খৃষ্টান ঐক্য পরিষদ পঞ্চগড় জেলা সভাপতি কল্যাণ কুমার ঘোষ প্রমুখ। আলোচনা শেষে নির্বাচিত পাঁচজন জয়িতাকে সম্মননা স্মারক ও উপহার সামগ্রী আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে প্রদান করা হয়।
জয়িতারা হলেন:- (১)অনৈতিকভাবে সাফল্য অর্জনকারী নারী উপজেলার ছোটদাপ গ্রামের মোছাঃ লাকী বেগম,(২) শিক্ষা ও চাকুরীর ক্ষেত্রে সাফল্য অর্জনকারী নারী ছোটদাপ গ্রামের রুমি আক্তার,(৩) সফল জননী নারী রঘুনাথপুর গ্রামের যাত্রী দেবনাথ,(৪) নির্যাতনের বিভীষিকা মুছে ফেলে নতুন উদ্যমে জীবন শুরু করেছেন যে নারী রাণীগঞ্জ গ্রামের সেবিকা রাণী ও (৫) সমাজ উন্নয়নে অসামান্য অবদান রেখেছেন যে নারী মধ্য নলপুখরী গ্রামের মোছাঃ মর্জিনা। অনুষ্ঠানে উপজেলার বিভিন্ন দপ্তরের কর্মকর্তা, মহিলা বিষয়ক অধিদপ্তরের অধীনস্ত বিভিন্ন সংগঠনের নেতৃবৃন্দ সহ গণমাধ্যমকর্মীগণ উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
