ঠাকুরগাওয়ের রাণীশংকৈল উপজেলায় ৯ ডিসেম্বর বুধবার ” আন্তর্জাতিক নারী নির্যাতন প্রতিরোধ পক্ষ”র আওতায় রোকেয়া দিবস পালিত হয়েছে । এ উপলক্ষে এদিন সকালে উপজেলা প্রশাসন ও মহিলা বিষয়ক অধিদপ্তরের আয়োজনে উপজেলা পরিষদ চত্বর থেকে একটি বর্ণাঢ্য র ্যালি বের করা হয়।
পরে উপজেলা হলরুমে নবাগত ইউএনও সোহেল সুলতান জুলকার নাইন কবির স্টিভের সভাপতিত্বে এক আলোচনা সভা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। সভায় প্রধান অতিথি ছিলেন উপজেলা চেয়ারম্যান শাহরিয়ার আজম মুন্না। বিশেষ অতিথি ছিলেন ভাইস চেয়ারম্যান সোহেল রানা ও মহিলা ভাইস চেয়ারম্যান শেফালি বেগম।
এ ছাড়াও অনুষ্ঠানে রাজনৈতিক সামাজিক নেতা-কর্মি, বিভিন্ন কর্মকর্তা,শিক্ষক ছাত্র-ছাত্রি ও সাংবাদিকরা উপস্থিতছিলেন। স্বাগত বক্তব্য দেন,মহিলা বিষয়ক কর্মকর্তা আবিদা সুলতানা। আরো বক্তব্য দেন, মহিলা লীগ সম্পাদিকা ফরিদা ইয়াসমিন, বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধা হবিবর রহমান, রাণীশংকৈল প্রেসক্লাব প্রতিষ্ঠাতা সভাপতি অধ্যাপক আনোয়ারুল ইসলাম প্রমুখ। অনুষ্ঠান শেষে উপজেলার পাঁচজন জয়িতাকে সম্মাননা স্মারক প্রদান করা হয়।
