টাঙ্গাইলের মধুপুরে উপজেলা প্রশাসন ও উপজেলা মহিলা বিষয়ক কর্মকর্তার কার্যালয় কর্তৃক আয়োজিত আন্তর্জাতিক নারী নির্যাতন প্রতিরোধ পক্ষ ও বেগম রোকেয়া দিবস উদযাপন উপলক্ষে “জয়িতা অন্বষণে বাংলাদেশ” শীর্ষক কার্যক্রম অনুষ্ঠান অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে।
বুধবার (৯ ই ডিসেম্বর) সকাল ১১ টায় উপজেলা পরিষদ হলরুমে মধুপুর উপজেলা নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা আরিফা জহুরা এর সভাপতিত্বে অনুষ্ঠানটি অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। আলোচনা শেষে উপজেলার ৫ জন মহিলা জয়িতার মাঝে সংবর্ধনা ক্রেস্টও প্রদান করা হয়।
জয়িতারা হলেনঃ শিক্ষা ও চাকুরী ক্ষেত্রে সাফল্য অর্জনকারী নারী সালমা আফরোজ, অর্থনৈতিক ক্ষেত্রে সাফল্য অর্জন কারী নারী ছায়া রানী সুত্র ধর, নির্যাতনে বিভীষিকা মুছে ফেলে নুতুন উদ্যমে জীবন শুরু করছেন যে নারী শিরিন, সমাজ উন্নয়নে বিশেষ অবদানের জন্য পারভীন আক্তার , সাহেরা বেগম জেলা পর্যায়ে সফল জননী হিসেবে বিশেষ সংবর্ধনা ক্রেস্ট প্রদান করা হয়।
মধুপুর উপজেলা নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা (ইউএনও) আরিফা জহুরা বলেন, “নারীরা কোনো কাজেই আর পিছিয়ে নেই। সরকারের বিভিন্ন দপ্তর থেকে শুরু করে তৃনমুল পর্যায়ে নারীরা এখন আর পিছিয়ে নেই। তারা বিভিন্ন উন্নয়নমুলক কাজে বিশেষ অবদান রেখে যাচ্ছেন যার প্রতিফলন আজকের এই জয়তী অনুষ্ঠান।”
আর এময় অন্যান্যদের মধ্যে মহিলা বিষয়ক কর্মকর্তা আমিনা বেগম, মৎস্য কর্মকর্তা রাসেদুজ্জামান রাসেদ সহ অন্যান্য কর্মকর্তারাও উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
